This beautiful Golden -Tan chert biface has a bi-convex cross-section. The flaking is by initial percussion followed by pressure edgework. It was found in northwestern Nevada in the 1960's.
This type of early biface was typically used for skinning large game. It was handheld when used, as opposed to being hafted into a handle.
