Early Native American Indian Fancy Beaded Belt Sash with Rare Ex-Large Antler Buckle. Belt leather length is 40" x 3". Appearing hand curve buckle of unknown material being Huge at 5" x 5.5". Leather is extra thick at 1/4. 12 in round circle with SKUNK design on backside with Daisy flower on both sides. Beaded strip is over 26" x 3" in Excellent Condition. Tribes with Skunk Clans include the Creek (whose Skunk Clan is named Kunipalgi or Konepvlke), the Choctaw, and the Chickasaw. The Hidatsa also had a Skunk or Pole-cat Society, which was a ceremonial organization of young women associated with the celebration of war honors.
