Early Plains catlinite pipe and matching stem, Native American

  
This an early plains twisted stem catlinite pipe , matching snake motif on the stem and pipe. Pipe has a snake in relief pursuing a frog that is climbing over the bowl edge.

Shows good use wear in the bowl. It still has original paint/ dyes on the stem. Stem exhibits a natural overall patina.

Originally collected in the early 40s. I acquired it in the late 90s. A truly nice example of an authentic plains pipe With matching stem. Measurements; overall length pipe and stem 26 1;4inches.
