On offer is an authentic, beautiful vintage NAVAJO hand wrought. 925 sterling silver pin / brooch adorned with a dramatic natural gem quality desert blue green hand-cut and polished oval shaped southwest turquoise cabochon stone.
It is surrounded by fancy silver raindrop bump-outs and decorative silver rope applications on an oxidized (blackened) ground. This pin / brooch is hallmarked Sterling, but not for maker which was quite common in Native American jewelry prior to the 1970's. We believe this pin / brooch was created circa 1940's or perhaps earlier.
This exquisite pin / brooch was skillfully crafted with attention to detail in the NAVAJO tradition and is in very good vintage condition. Any white marks or spots are lighting reflections and not flaws. (please see ALL photos for an accurate detailed depiction). The pin back is in good working order.
The large hand-cut and polished southwest turquoise oval stone is in very good condition with no chips or cracks and is securely set in a plain silver bezel. 7/8" long x 1/2" wide. Overall, the pin / brooch measures approx.1 1/4" long x 7/8" at widest. It weighs 10.7 grams.
