On offer is an authentic, vintage NAVAJO hand wrought. 925 sterling silver three (3) split band cuff bracelet adorned with three (3) fine hand cut and polished southwest desert natural petrified agatized wood cabochon stones.
The bracelet is made up of three (3) hand cut split bands decorated with two (2) classic handmade applied stamped rattlesnakes, stamped arrowheads, crescent crowns, rosette motifs, raindrops and beading. This bracelet is not hallmarked which was quite common in earlier Native American jewelry prior to the 1970's.We believe this piece was created circa 1940's or perhaps earlier. This handsome bracelet was skillfully crafted in the traditional old NAVAJO technique with attention to detail and is in very good vintage condition (please see ALL photos for an accurate detailed depiction).
One of the bands has a minor split that is not visible from the front of the cuff and does not affect the strength or stability of this piece. The beautiful, gem quality desert hue petrified wood stones are in very good vintage condition with no chips or cracks. The color is mostly pale to charcoal gray, tan with burnt orange accents. The three (3) stones are firmly and securely set in smooth silver bezels surrounded by silver beading. The central oval stone measures approx.1 1/4" long x 3/4" wide; the two triangle shaped stones are approx 1" long x 1/2" wide each. Overall, the three (3) split band bracelet measures approx. 1 1/2" tapering to 9/16" wide. The interior circumference of the cuff is approx. 6 5/8" TOTAL including 1 3/8" opening.
The cuff has a bit of flexibility for careful adjusting and weighs a very hefty 45.8 grams - 1.475 ounces.
