Early Vintage Navajo Sterling Silver Petit Point Turquoise Stamped Cuff Bracelet

  

On offer is an authentic, vintage NAVAJO hand wrought. 925 sterling silver cuff bracelet adorned with fancy repousse applique, various hand stamped motifs and old s outhwestern natural hand-cut and polished petit point desert green turquoise c abochon stones. T his bracelet is not hallmarked which was quite common in earlier Native American jewelry. We believe it was created circa 1940 or perhaps earlier.

This classic bracelet is skillfully executed in the traditional old NAVAJO technique with attention to detail and is in very good vintage condition (please see ALL photos for an accurate detailed depiction). The hand stamped decorations include arrows, teepees, thunderbirds, sun face symbols, rain and ceremonial headdresses. The natural, petit point and round flat cabochon turquoise stones are in very good condition with only a few having marginal age chips or cracks. All stones are firmly and securely set in smooth silver bezels surrounded by silver raindrops and silver rope on an oxidized (blackened) ground. The petit point stones measure approx.

5/16" long x 1/8" wide and the round central stone is approx. The split band cuff bracelet measures approx. 1 1/16" tapering to 1/4" wide. The interior circumference of the cuff is approx.

7" TOTAL including a 1 1/2" opening. The cuff has some flexibility and weighs 26.5 grams. This traditional, well crafted NAVAJO. 925 Sterling Silver and Southwest petit point desert green turquoise cuff bracelet would make an outstanding addition to any Twentieth Century Native American Silver and Stone Jewelry, Southwest American Turquoise or Historic Cultural Arts and Crafts collection.
