EARLY Vtg OLD PAWN Native American NAVAJO Sterling Silver NAJA Beaded Necklace

  

This necklace is an incredible example of early Navajo stamp work. The naja measures about 3" from top to bottom by 2.5" wide. It features hand stamped designs and a large turquoise stone.

The necklace is a bench bead necklace measuring 22 long. The unusual part of this necklace is that it has an old but very large victorian clasp. It was restrung at some point, but in talking to Navajo artists, they indicated the clasp was likely original to the piece as early on, they did use whatever clasps they had access to.
