This specific piece has features that are very unique and not seen in many of his other pieces! Using the finest natural turquoise and heavy grade sterling his design incorporates various silversmithing techniques to create this authentic gem. The Kachina features three large polished nuggets of turquoise for the head dress, turquoise eyes within his decorated mask a gorget choker necklace, armbands, and bracelets along with a turquoise nugget decorative loincloth and knee high moccasins.
The figure is also holding a feather and possibly a small drum in each hand all while grasping a small golden figure which is embellished by 3 gem stones. The silversmith has attached a thumb locking bolo clasp on the back and has used a 4-ply braided black leather cord with sterling seamed bead end tips.
The Kachina measures 4 1/2" tall by 2" across the three turquoise nugget headdress. The 4-ply cord measures 39" long which includes the 2 1/8" long sterling seamed bead end tips.
The complete bolo tie weighs 55.1 grams is hallmarked Sterling - W, Denetdale - Navajo by Navajo silversmith Will Denetdale. There's also a number etched above the hallmark that reads 95516.
