

Gilbert Nez ('47-2007), Jicarilla Apache/Navajo, was one the the very finest silversmiths in the modern era. His work is in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian Museum of the American Indian. He has on numerous awards, including the Medal of Honor from the Smithsonian. In his 500 awards are prizes from The Gallup Ceremonial and Santa Fe Indian Market. His pieces are in private collections, galleries and museums world-wide.
This is one of his early pieces. He began making jewelry at age 15. Two very nice pear shaped Turquoise stones, one webbed, are set in smooth bezels and raised on pear shaped plates. Separated by two silver raindrops.
