EARLY NANCY & SHELDON WESTIKA ZUNI RING. This listing features a beautiful band ring and a fine example of the Westika style. This couple is known for their sterling silver channel work using various materials like the abalone, Mother of Pearl, and likely green jasper inlays of this band. Research verifies it was made early in their careers before they started to sign their work, most likely in the 1970s. It needs a little TLC but this is a nice find for the knowledgeable Zuni collector.

A size 9 or slightly larger, the band measures 1/2 of an inch tall by approximately 3 inches of interior length with a smooth plain back that is easy to size. 925' is marked on the interior of this ring. It weighs 8 grams, which is heavier than similar Westika book pieces of approximately 5 grams.

If you aren't sure about your ring size, please take time to measure your fingers and knuckles to be sure this ring will fit comfortably. Wrap a flexible tape measure, a strip of paper, or a length of string around your finger. Hold the ends together and mark where they meet. Flatten this against a ruler for your approximate length.

The overall condition of this ring is very good, with heavy patina and the expected wear of a favorite ring. The luminosity of the inlays is fascinating - as if lit from within, they glow. I have to add that there is a wonderful spirit'attached' to this ring that is hard to describe. I'm delighted to pass it along for the new owner to enjoy.
