NAVAJO SECOND PHASE CONCHO BELT Early 1900's. 46 Leather COPPER SOLDERED

  
A VERY EARLY NAVAJO STERLING SILVER COPPER STRAPPED CONCHO BELT made approximately early 20th century estimated to be 1930s or 40s. This belt has the original leather overall length is 44 inches. The main Concho BUCKLE is very stylish heavily stamped and measures approximately 2 " X 1 1/2" (5 x 4 cm). On the reverse of the buckle are the marks Sterling and an N. The letter could be a Z.

The belt has 16 oval Conchos each measuring 1 1/2" x 15 /16 " 4 x 2 1/2 cm. On the reverse of the oval Conchos is a very solid half inch wide piece of copper that supports the Concho to the old leather strap. I could go on and on about how fine this belt is it is just so right and real so very early with the exact amount of early wear, but not weak condition. I don't see any areas on it that would indicate that it couldn't last another hundred years. Please contact me with any questions and thank you for looking.
