Arnold Blackgoat lives on the Navajo Reservation in "Black Hat"New Mexico... He has been silversmithing since the age of 8, by helping his Grandmother, "Helen Blackgoat & his well known Uncle"Carson Blackgoat.
He stays extremely true to his culture & no matter how far artists grow & move into a more modern world, Arnold stays close to his Navajo roots when it comes to design. You will always get a more traditional Navajo style in all he makes. Arnold designs with a brilliant, skilled eye, that never seems to fail using the right stamps onto the metal, in order to highlight stones he uses. The sterling is so artistically stamped & shows sense of balance & fluidity. Stampwork like Arnold's, is not something every artist can do with skill & it is truly a'art form' & isn't learned overnight!
Used in these, are chunky ovals of true turquoise tones, with brown matrix. These are a'clip' earring & if you do not wear clips, these can easily be converted to posts, by having a reputable jeweler remove the stone, in order to solder the post. The oxidation left in the crevices, would have to be replenished.
