Obtained many years ago from a Jim Thorpe, PA school teacher's estate sale, this large b/w, pre-WWII vintage original photograph measures approx 20" x 24". Handwritten pencil notation at bottom of front of photo states, Which one is our Indian?

Verso has handwritten reply notation, "Roger, the bare chested boy, is our Indian". As you may know, long before Hitler made it a hated symbol, the'swastika' symbol being hundreds of centuries old and originally referred to as the'whirling logs', meant good luck or good fortune. It was also adopted and worn by many Native American Indian tribes long before it took on Hitler's evil Nazi Aryan power oppression symbolization during WW2. To my knowledge and extensive internet research this Native American Indian costumed school children photo being offered for sale has never before been published.

The photo contains several surface "spider type" creases throughout from having been originally rolled, a few stains and blemishes along with some edge/corner wear, otherwise in overall very good displayable condition with superb image clarity. Has been stored in smoke free environment and shrink wrapped on acid free museum quality archival board. NOTE: The copy protection word "WATERMARKED" will of course not appear on the original photograph.
