The pot is believed to have received a hairline fracture, as shown in attached photo's, during the outdoor pre kiln drying process. And for that reason it was remarkably not fired or destroyed but amazingly saved! Because of its unique terra cotta appearance, and not the usual black glazed form pot by Mr. Blackmore, many possible collectors have bypassed this treasure over the years not realizing its true origin. This piece would surely be a rare and amazing unique showpiece to any serious collector of Native American pottery.
