Silver 1930s Turquoise Ring by Navajo Etsitty Tsosie 1880-1937 Size 6.75

  
This ring was made by Navajo silversmith artist Etsitty-Tsosie. I've also seen his name as Eskiesosie, Et-Sitty-Tsosie, and Etsitty Tsosie. He was born in 1880 and was active from 1910 to 1937, the year of his death at the age of 57.

He had won many awards in the 1930s for his beautiful traditional work. The ring is in very good, vintage condition.

It has normal wear, and the "blacking" has lightened over the years. I would estimate this to be from the 1920s to 1930s. It's a size 6-3/4 and is signed on the back with his X crossed arrows mark.

This mark is listed in Bille Hougart's book Native American and Southwestern Silver Hallmarks, and also on numerous websites that feature Native American hallmarks. He was considered a master at his trade. Please look closely at all the pictures for more details and condition information. Feel free to ask any questions you may have.

All metals have been tested. I recommend that you clean all jewelry before wearing. I have no control over it, or the ability to remove it. I will try to answer them to the best of my ability. I sell vintage, not new, so please take into consideration that your item may not look brand new. Normally, I do not clean or polish my vintage items outside of a light dusting or damp wipe. I'll leave that to your discretion.
